    About the gamepad test

    Updated

The gamepad tester reads your controller through the browser's Gamepad API and shows every button, trigger and analogue axis in real time. It works with Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and generic USB or Bluetooth controllers, and can switch between several connected pads.

    How to use it

    1. Connect your controller by USB or Bluetooth.
    2. Press any button so the browser detects it.
    3. Press every button and pull each trigger fully, checking the values reach their maximum.
    4. Let go of both sticks and watch the axis values for stick drift.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I check for stick drift?

Leave the thumbsticks untouched. The axis values should sit at or very near zero. If they wander or rest well away from zero, the stick is drifting.

Why isn't my controller showing up?

Browsers only reveal a controller after you press a button on it. If it still doesn't appear, reconnect it or try a USB cable instead of Bluetooth.

Does it work with PS5 and Switch Pro controllers?

Yes. Any controller your operating system recognises is supported, though button names may follow a generic layout.
