    About the battery check

    The battery check reads the Battery Status API, which reports your charge level, charging state and the operating system's estimate of time until full or empty. Values update as soon as they change, so you can plug and unplug the charger to confirm your cable and port are working.

    How to use it

    1. Open the page on a laptop, tablet or phone.
    2. Check the charge level and power source.
    3. Plug in or unplug the charger and confirm the status changes within a few seconds.
    4. Leave the page open to see the time-left estimate settle.

    Frequently asked questions

    Why does it say battery info isn't available?

    Only Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Opera expose battery data. Firefox and Safari don't, and desktop PCs without a battery report nothing.

    Can it show my battery's health or wear?

    No. Browsers only expose charge level and charging state. For wear, use your system's battery report, such as powercfg on Windows or System Information on a Mac.

    Why is the time estimate missing?

    The operating system needs a few minutes of steady charging or discharging before it reports an estimate.
