Network test
Ping three global edge networks to measure round-trip latency and jitter, so you know if your connection is fit for calls and games.
Video call check
Step 4 of 4 · Make sure people can see and hear you before the meeting.
That's the last step. Start the gaming setup check.
About the network test
Updated
The network test sends four requests to each of three edge networks (Cloudflare, Google and Amazon Web Services) and measures the round trip. Latency is the median of those requests and jitter is the average difference between them. Low, steady numbers matter more than raw download speed for video calls and online games.
How to use it
- Close downloads and streams that could skew the result.
- Run the test and wait for all three endpoints to finish.
- Compare the average ping and jitter with the quality rating.
- Run it again on Wi-Fi and on a cable to compare.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good ping?
Under 50 ms is great for gaming and calls, 50 to 100 ms is fine for most uses, and over 150 ms is noticeable in real-time apps.
What is jitter?
Jitter is how much your ping varies between requests. High jitter causes choppy calls and rubber-banding in games even when the average ping looks fine.
Is this a download speed test?
No. It measures latency and stability, not bandwidth.
