    About the cps test

    Updated

The CPS test counts how many times you click within a set time and divides by the length of the test to give your clicks per second. You can choose 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds: short tests measure burst speed, long tests measure stamina. It also works with taps on a touch screen, and it's a quick way to spot a mouse button that misses clicks.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a test length.
    2. Click inside the click area to start the timer.
    3. Keep clicking as fast as you can until the timer reaches zero.
    4. Read your CPS and try to beat your best score.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a good CPS?

Most people manage around 6 to 7 clicks per second. 8 or more is fast, and above 10 usually takes a technique such as jitter or butterfly clicking.

Is jitter or butterfly clicking allowed?

Yes. The test counts every click your browser receives, whatever the technique. Be gentle with your mouse: these techniques wear out switches quickly.

Why are some of my clicks not counted?

A worn mouse switch can miss clicks or register one press as two. If your count seems off, check the button in the mouse test.
