    About the xbox controller test

    Updated

The Xbox controller test works with Xbox One and Xbox Series controllers connected by USB cable, Bluetooth or the Xbox Wireless Adapter. It reads the controller through the browser's Gamepad API, the same interface PC games use, and shows every button, the full travel of LT and RT, and the exact position of both thumbsticks.

    How to use it

    1. Connect the controller with a USB cable, or pair it over Bluetooth by holding the pair button on top until the Xbox button flashes quickly.
    2. Press any button so the browser detects it.
    3. Press every button, including the View, Menu and Share buttons, and pull both triggers fully.
    4. Let go of the sticks and check they rest at or very near zero.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I fix Xbox controller stick drift?

First update the controller in the Xbox Accessories app, then clean around the stick base with compressed air. If the stick still drifts at rest, the stick module is worn and needs repair or replacement. Our stick drift guide covers each step.

Why isn't my Xbox controller detected?

Browsers only show a controller after a button press. Older Xbox One controllers without Bluetooth need a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

Does it work with the Elite controller?

Yes for the standard buttons, triggers and sticks. The rear paddles are mapped by the controller itself, so they show up as whatever button they're assigned to.
